Treatments Performed with Digital Machine in Nanoblading technique for long lasting look.
WHAT IS NANOBLADING?
Nanoblading also known as Permanent (Semi-permanent) makeup treatment is a form of Cosmetic Tattooing but it’s not as deep as conventional tattooing, as we are only going through the top layer of the skin into the upper dermis. Each hair stroke is carefully etched into the skin, creating that incredibly natural appearance of real hair. The pigment colours used are chosen to suit your skin tone.
Treatment involves having one initial session followed by a second between 4 – 6 weeks later. Your Semi-permanent makeup will not be completed until after your second session, this is where your colour and shape can all be adjusted. After this a colour boost session (Top Up session) is recommended to keep your permanent makeup looking fresh. This is recommended every 12-18 months; this also depends on skin type and skincare routine.
WHAT IS SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP (SPMU)?
Semi-permanent makeup (SPMU) also known as permanent makeup or cosmetic tattooing is procedure whereby colour pigments are implanted below the skin surface (epidermis) in order to enhance facial features.
Semi-permanent makeup creates makeup that does not wash off, looks good, stays put and can last around 18 months to 3 years. From natural hair stroke, powder or combination eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner and blush blend you can have makeup that lasts 24/7.
WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP TREATMENTS?
Have sparse hair or no brows
To gain a better shape, due to the lack of hair growth
Through choice to look/feel better
Hair loss through chemotherapy
To camouflage scars
Loss of confidence in appearance
The benefits are endless, and every client is specific to how it benefits them.
HOW SEMI-PERMANENT/PERMANENT IS IT?
This is still a tattoo where cosmetic pigment is being placed into your skin. Cosmetic tattoo pigments are made up of smaller molecules than traditional tattoo ink which means that they're able to break down naturally in your body over time.
Cosmetic tattooing when done correctly is not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional body tattoos so will fade as your skin wears and regenerates. Everyone's bodies will process the pigment differently, as well as your lifestyle choices affecting the longevity of the tattoo.
Semi-permanent means it will fade over time, and that if you want to keep your eyeliner looking vibrant, top up appointments will be needed to maintain this look.
Semi-permanent DOES NOT mean it will 100% fade away. You may always be left with remnants of pigment under your skin even 10 years from now.
ARE SPMU PROCEDURES PAINFUL?
Probably the most asked question regarding semi-permanent makeup treatments. And honestly every client’s pain threshold is different, while one may feel nothing another may find it a little uncomfortable. The level of discomfort cannot be guaranteed as it differs from client to client. All in all, it is more uncomfortable than painful, generally people say on a scale of 1-10 it’s around a 2/3.
I have done my eyebrows previously and can confirm it is uncomfortable rather painful. Some might have more painful experience while they are tweezing their brows.
I do numb the area before treatment.
HOW LONG WILL MY SPMU LAST?
SPMU treatments vary from person to person, depending on your personal aftercare, your skin type and your lifestyle, it is on average 12-18 months (sometimes up to 2-2.5 years). Aftercare is so important to have long lasting results.
Also, second session of your treatment (re-touch or touch-up) is very important and necessary as everyone heals differently, and after the first healing session colour will appear uneven and 10-50% lighter. During the re-touch session we will implant more pigment, add more strokes and most importantly it is in your re-touch session when we will refine your brows to ensure they look perfect and retain for the whole year (or more).
WHO CAN HAVE A NANOBLADING/SPMU?
It is suitable for most people, before going ahead we would have a consultation and go through any pre-existing medical conditions and any medication you may be taking to determine if the treatment is right for you. It is important to consider that not everyone is a suitable client, some clients don’t retain pigment well and this isn’t something we can tell until try the treatment.
HOW OLD YOU HAVE TO BE TO HAVE NANOBLADING/SPMU?
You must be over 18 years of age in order to have the treatment done.
